Saucony is originally an American brand. Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company was founded in 1898 at the banks of Saucony Creek in Kutztown,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Pennsylvania. Saucony means mouth of a creek or river.
Hyde acquired the company and relocated the shoe manufacturing to Cambridge. In the beginning [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]s were used only by serious runners only then athletes started to use them too. In 1985 the company moved to Peabody,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], MA then in 2005 it was acquired by The Stride Rite Corporation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lexington,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], MA. Saucony won several awards and is a supporter of running races e.g. Brighton Marathon.
How did I find this brand?
Buying my first [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]s dates back to 2004. Before that I used normal training shoes. I went to a local shop to buy myself trainers and luckily the shopkeeper was a marathon runner so he convinced me to buy [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. He showed me different brands of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and told me that he uses Saucony. It wasn’t the most expensive brand available so I believed him that they are really good. I had several pairs of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]s since then,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however while I was pregnant with my sons and breastfeeding them I used my [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] for everyday footwear.
