Colts think bye week comes at perfect time to get healthy, focus on 2nd half run
But injuries don't account for all of the Colts' problems.
The Colts' streak of seven consecutive 12-win seasons and five division crowns in six years are in serious Jeff Saturday Jersey jeopardy, and next week's looming rematch with Houston might dictate who controls the division race in the second half.
They've already played four road Jeff Saturday Jersey games. They're 0-2 in the AFC South for the first time. They have 10 players on injured reserve, a growing list of guys who are considered week-to-week and major injury questions about Pro Bowl tight end Dallas Clark and running back Joseph Addai.
"You always use the bye week to work on some things that maybe you're not doing so well, things that you can improve on," Manning said. "Certainly part of the bye week, though, is to get Jeff Saturday Jersey some rest. Hopefully, anybody that is banged up can get healed up."
INDIANAPOLIS — Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts couldn't wait for this year's break in the schedule.
"The guy hit me in the right spot. When I went down I was hurt, I was in a lot of pain," Addai said. "But I Jeff Saturday Jersey didn't tear or break anything, that's the good end of it. I really don't know how I'll feel Monday."
"With a bye week we get a chance to rest guys a little bit more than we ordinarily would if we had a game coming up this weekend," coach Jim Caldwell said. "It would be a little Jeff Saturday Jersey different status in terms of what we would hopefully have him (Addai) doing at this point in time. He's resting and trying to recover."
At least that's what the Colts are hoping.
While the offence has been solid, Manning and others understand it's been far from perfect.
"You play six games, four of them are on the road and you get guys dinged up, so it's a good time to get some guys healthy and rest their bodies," centre Jeff Saturday Jersey said. "The thing we've talked about the last few weeks is consistency. Even (Sunday) night, there were things we could have cleaned up."
If true, it would certainly fit Jeff Saturday Jersey Indy's season-long trend.
But he's the exception and the self-described perfectionist knows Indianapolis (4-2) must get healthy — in more ways than one.
A week off won't help him much, but it might be of great benefit to others.
Seven defensive backs and kick returner Devin Moore have already been put on injured reserve.
It's the perfect time to get away from Jeff Saturday Jersey it all.
Like just about everyone else in the locker room.
They missed at least half a dozen tackles against the Redskins and their feared pass rush has produced only 11 sacks in six games. Indy already has 11 fumbles this season,NBA Jerseys, matching its entire total from 2009, and whether it's the Super Bowl curse or not, things just haven't gone the way Indy fans expect.
Offensive tackle Charlie Johnson has played all season with a sore right foot. Receiver Anthony Gonzalez has Jeff Saturday Jersey missed five straight games with a high ankle sprain. Defensive captain Gary Brackett couldn't play last Sunday because of a groin injury. Nickel back Jacob Lacey has been out the last three weeks with a bad foot. Linebacker Clint Session and receiver Pierre Garcon each missed two starts because of hamstring injuries.
After spending two full off-seasons trying to jump-start their ground game, the Colts still rank 27th in the league. And though they have been running more efficiently the last couple of Jeff Saturday Jersey weeks, they're still not sure whether Addai or backup Donald Brown will play against Houston.
"We know how important a game it will be," Manning said. "But this week, as we've talked about in the past, we try to kind of improve the Colts, if we can, and just focus on things we can do to be better."
The newest concern surrounds Clark, who apparently injured his wrist or hand during Sunday night's victory.
Fortunately for the Colts, the four-time league MVP is not one of those hurting.
Give Manning and his teammates an extra week to figure it all out, and, well, the Colts could have a Jeff Saturday Jersey refreshingly different look when they face Houston next week.
While coach Jim Caldwell hasn't yet provided an update on the injury, there's been speculation about whether Clark's injury could require season-ending surgery.
Addai suffered a nerve injury in his left shoulder in Sunday's victory at Washington. Brown has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, and a few extra days of rest may be just what he needs.
There may be a reason.
And those are just the guys who have missed starts.
Bob Sanders, the 2007 NFL defensive player of the year, isn't one of them — yet. He tore the right biceps muscle on the Colts' first defensive series of the season, then had surgery that is expected to keep him out until at least December.
