The shoe was tremendously successful not only because it attracted running shoes fanatics and running enthusiasts, but also because it was insanely popular with the general public. With minimal branding on the shoe, limited to a small Swoosh on the back ankle panel, the shoe itself stood out as a lesson in timeless design.
Inspired by the human body, the uppers consisted of graduated suede panels, 3M Scotchlite, and nylon mesh. The Air Max 95 Men featured colored Visible Air Units on the heel with PSI pressure readings on them and also had colored Visible Air Units on the front of the shoe, which was a first for any Air Max shoe. The shoe also included a molded tongue with 3M accents surrounded by a speed-lacing system that used high-density mesh eyelets. The Black/Neon Yellow/White colorway, also known as the “Neons” has been re-issued several times and still remains a favorite of running shoes fans worldwide.
