WR Jordan Shipley- Shipley should play this week, but he’s not productive enough to warrant a start. *
WR Michael Jenkins- Ryan targeted Jenkins 11 times in week six, and Jenkins looks to be a decent Flex play, but temper your expectations. ***
RB Chris Johnson- Keep Johnson in the lineup, as you always should. *****
RB Bernard Scott- Let’s keep Scott on the bench until he gets more involved with the offense, or at least in the red zone. *
Cleveland Defense- Drew Brees will most likely have a big game against this awful secondary. *
WR Josh Cribbs- Cribbs could play this week, but it’s unlikely. His value is limited to kick off returns, which he hasn’t even had much success with anyway. *
QB Michael Vick- Vick will likely sit one more week as he’s not fully recovered. Kolb playing well gives Philly an opportunity not to rush him. *
WR Brian Robiskie- Robiskie shouldn’t be rostered. *
RB Michael Turner- Atlanta was playing from behind and was forced to throw a lot, limiting Turner’s week six carries. Keep him in the lineup this week, as they’ll rely on him a bit more. ****
RB Cedric Benson- Benson’s going to get carries, but the key to a Cincinnati victory is through the air. Benson will still get in the end zone once. ***
RB Pierre Thomas – Thomas could end up sitting out in week seven as well. Keep up to date, but I don’t think the Saints will feel the need to rush him back. *
Cleveland Browns @ New Orleans Saints
RB LeSean McCoy- Keep LeSean in the lineup as he finds ways to get yardage and generally finds a score. ****
WR Chansi Stuckey- Stuckey isn’t a terrible option if you are desperate for Flex help. He’s had 45+ yards in each of his last three matchups. **
WR Roddy White- White just continues to find ways to produce. He’s emerging as a top wideout in fantasy. ****
TE Tony Gonzalez- He didn’t have the game I thought he would, but still had two touchdowns in week six. Keep him in. ***
WR Kenny Britt- Britt registered another touchdown. I think he gets shutdown this week by Asante Samuel. **
RB Jason Snelling- Snelling is a great handcuff, but he’s not reliable enough to start. **
QB Drew Brees- Brees had an excellent week six, and should continue to roll against the Browns secondary. *****
Week 7 of the 2010 fantasy football season is upon us, giving us another chance to dig deep into another week of fantasy matchups. Matchups likely threw fantasy owners off quite a bit this past week, as several players (Hakeem Nicks comes to mind) didn’t play up to par, while other (MJD comes to mind) continued their slow start to their season.
WR Lance Moore- Moore is a frustrating player. He’ll go a couple nice weeks, and then he’ll lay eggs. This is a good matchup, however. ***
WR Jason Avant- With DeSean Jackson most likely sitting, Avant will have a bigger role. I look for him to get around five catches and possibly a score. ***
TE Bo Scaife- Scaife doesn’t see enough receptions to be considered for a start. *
TE Jermaine Gresham- Gresham is seeing targets from Palmer, and should have a decent week if you’re hurting for a TE. ***
WR Nate Washington- Washington only saw two targets in the Monday night blowout of the Jaguars. Part of that was just Tennessee rushing more as they had a big lead. He’s still not a terrible Flex option, but you can do better. **
QB Vince Young- Young injured his knee in week six. Look for [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to start in his place this week. *
Atlanta Defense- I’m not trusting Atlanta’s secondary against Carson Palmer and Terrell Owens this week. **
QB Carson Palmer- Palmer is coming off the bye week refreshed, and gets a below average pass defense. He’s not a top tier option this week, but he’s a solid QB2 . ***
RB Chris Ivory- Surprisingly enough, Ivory finished 158 yards last week, he should get more of the work this week against the Browns. ***
WR Justin Gage- There’s a good chance Gage still won’t play this week. *
QB Kevin Kolb- Tennessee’s secondary isn’t great, but they do force turnovers. Kolb should have two touchdowns, but will throw an interception as well. ***
Cincinnati Defense- I’m not sold on Cincinnati’s defense just yet. Matt Ryan seems to always connect with Roddy White, and just got Michael Jenkins back as well. **
QB Matt Ryan- Ryan was solid against the Eagles, and should be a solid QB2 this week as well having Jenkins back. ***
Key note: Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace are both out with ankle sprains. Mohamed Massaquoi and Josh Cribbs are questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Saints.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Tennessee Titans
TE Ben Watson- Watson’s value has increased a bit with McCoy playing. If you’re in need of a bye week TE, he’s not a bad option. ***
WR Devery Henderson – He’s not getting enough looks to start consistently. **
Tennessee Defense- This defense forces turnovers, but isn’t the most consistent. There are better options, but they aren’t a terrible start. ****
RB Peyton Hillis- Even against the Steelers, he found ways to contribute. Get him in the lineup as he’s one of the only options for the Browns. **
TE Jeremy Shockey – Shockey was ineffective against Tampa Bay, and I expect the same result in week seven. **
WR Marques Colston – Colston wasn’t bad last week, and I suggest you keep him in this week. ****
Read on for this week’s take on each NFL game matchup, as well as a quick breakdown and rating for every important fantasy option throughout the league. Worried about your fantasy lineup, injuries,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or player matchups? You’ve come to the right place:
WR Brian Finneran- With Jenkins back in the lineup, it’s time to get Finneran out of your lineup. *
WR Terrell Owens- Owens is the best receiver the Bengals have right now, and going against this week secondary makes him a nice option this week. ****
QB Colt McCoy- McCoy surprised a lot of people on Sunday having a decent game against the Steelers. Still, he isn’t a legit fantasy option. *
TE Brent Celek- Celek doesn’t always have the flashiest numbers, but Kolb will rely on him in the short field in week seven. ****
Philadelphia Defense- I’m not too keen on playing Philly’s defense against Chris Johnson who’s been on a tear the last couple of weeks.
WR Jeremy Maclin- Maclin should be in your lineup barring injury. He’s making plays in the short field, and down the field. ****
TE Evan Moore- He was productive against the Steelers for over 80 yards. He should still get looks, but it won’t be enough to start him. **
RB Ladell Betts- Betts got in the end zone, despite just six carries and twenty yards on the ground. **
WR Chad Ochocinco- Right now, Owens is getting most of the looks, but Ochocinco may not be a bad Flex play this week. ***
Cincinnati Bengals @ Atlanta Falcons
RB Mike Bell- Bell was acquired for Jerome Harrison. Bell’s carries will be limited as he’s more of a pass blocking option in passing situations. *
QB [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]- Collins will most likely get the nod, but keep up with NFL Soup just in case. Either way, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is a risky QB2 at best.
WR DeSean Jackson- Plan to keep DeSean out of your lineup this week. He suffered a huge hit in week six and will probably sit this week and use the bye week to rest up. *
Fantasy Football: Week 7 NFL Player Breakdowns By Matchup
WR Mohamed Massaquoi – After taking a crushing hit by James Harrison, Mo Mass will likely be out for the next week. You’re not losing anything, either way. *
WR Robert Meachem- Meachem has had two productive weeks, he may be solid enough to use as a Flex in deeper leagues. ***
New Orleans Defense – They get a rookie QB in week seven in Colt McCoy. They should be fine.
